The Metro is one rather interesting place. You can run into people reading Pascal's Pensées. Or Kant.
Or people talking about waffles.
Speaking of food, sometimes French restaurants "translate" their menus into very interesting English.
"Café et croissant" as "coffee and crescent."
"Perrier" -- "aerated water."
"Smoll portions."
"Humberger."
"Scowps of ice cream."
In the Latin Quarter. Irresistibly yellow grapefruit.
("Pamplemousse" en français. How cool is the word?)
Reward for braving freezing temperatures of Eiffel Tower top.
The Carnival turny-thing had such cheery music playing that it was impossible not to dance along. And it reminded me of the Japanese cartoon version of The Red Riding Hood that I saw earlier in the day. She was skipping on the way to see Grandma -- this is my rendition of it :).
P.S. At the end of the story, Red Riding Hood and her Grandma each had a glass of wine and said "cheers!"
